Artist Talk with Matt Sillars
As part of By The Way, there will be an artist talk on May 10th at 2pm by Matt Sillars that the public are invited to participate in.

With a career spanning more than 25 years, Sillars is a leading figure in photography across the Highlands. He taught photography at Inverness College for over two decades and is a founding Director of FLOW Photofest. He co-founded The Inverness Darkroom with Rachel Fermi and currently serves as Chair of its volunteer committee, actively promoting analogue photography throughout the Highlands and Moray.
Working exclusively with film, Sillars uses large and medium format cameras to create meticulously crafted black and white images. Each photograph is processed and printed by hand at the Inverness Community Darkroom on fibre-based paper and selenium toned for archival permanence, reflecting a deep commitment to traditional photographic practice.
