Event Type

An immersive painting course which offers space to experiment with water and oil-based paint, pigments and mono-printing, with a focus on developing colour sensibility.
This course offers the space to develop new work and expand your painting practice. Georgia will guide you towards experimenting in liberating ways.
The course will begin with an introduction to colour mixing, which will be suitable for both advance painters and beginners. Whatever your ability, dedicating time to developing your unique colour sense will be thrilling.
In the spacious MAC studio Georgia will introduce a wide range of mediums, painting techniques and ways of preparing and using various surfaces. Mono printing materials will be available to play with and Georgia will introduce concepts and ideas relating to why printmaking can help stretch your vocabulary as a painter and warrant exciting results when juggled and layered with paint.
Demonstrations of painting techniques will be given throughout the course, as will one on one tutorials and group discussions/ critiques.
At the beginning and end of the course Georgia will deliver presentations about contemporary and historical art, with an aim to inspire and stimulate new work.
