Join us at Moray Art Centre for an extraordinary exhibition featuring various sculptures meticulously crafted by Scott Gleed.
Scott’s journey to becoming a sculptor is as remarkable as his creations. A former Royal Marines Commando, he faced adversity head-on after a helicopter incident left him paralysed from the waist down for nearly two years. Undeterred, Scott returned to combat service before finding solace and inspiration in the world of art. Retraining in Combat Intelligence and target model making, he honed his skills and discovered his true calling as a sculptor.
Driven by his passion for conservation, especially within the marine environment and endangered species, Scott infuses his artworks with powerful environmental messages. Through collaborations with UK wildlife and conservation organisations, he raises awareness about the beauty and fragility of the animal world.
Using a diverse range of materials and techniques, Scott creates mesmerising pieces that evoke wonder and awe. From intricate sculptures to educational installations, each work showcases his unparalleled talent and dedication to his craft.
Scott’s contributions extend beyond the art world as he works closely with organisations like The Bite Back, Sea Shepherd, and Manta Trust. Through his art, he supports numerous charities, giving back to causes close to his heart.
Immerse yourself in a world where art and conservation converge. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the beauty of the ocean brought to life through Scott’s remarkable sculptures. These creations capture the essence of marine life in ways that defy imagination. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or an art enthusiast, his work promises to entertain and inspire, leaving you with a newfound appreciation for the wonders of our oceans.
