A taster workshop creating a little watercolour robin, designed for the beginner or intermediate.

Together we’ll spend our time learning about the basics of watercolour painting, the different types of paper, brushes, and colour palettes. Get ready to explore the magic of water and pigments!

• Colour Mixing Techniques: Understand how to mix and blend colours effectively. We’ll explore how to create a harmonious palette for our robin.

• Learn how to apply watercolour to achieve depth and dimension. We’ll practice the wet-on-wet technique for soft, flowing effects.

• Learn the finer techniques to  finish your robin, adjust colours, and add any final details. Sheree will provide personalized guidance.

About your tutor

Sheree Young, an internationally recognized contemporary watercolor artist, has made her mark in the art world through her expressive and experimental approach.

Originally from the Eastern Cape, South Africa, she now resides in the Highlands of Scotland. Her artistic journey has been shaped by her diverse experiences and cultural influences. She draws inspiration from the natural beauty of both regions.

One of Sheree’s notable achievements is her participation in the prestigious FabrianoinAcquarello, the largest watercolor event worldwide. Representing both Scotland and South Africa, she showcased her talent alongside other accomplished watercolor artists.  In addition, Sheree was selected to exhibit at the Highland Art Prize Exhibition in Glasgow.
