The Moray Art Centre is thrilled to announce the successful completion of a trial six-day course titled ‘Creative Thinking Through Art’, specifically designed for teenagers and funded by the Newbold Legacy Trust.
Over the October holidays, 13 high school students from Moray embarked on a creative journey, immersing themselves in the beautiful surroundings of Findhorn village.
Throughout the course, students utilised a variety of artistic methods – including drawing, sculpting, painting, and writing – to explore the essence of their local environment. Participants engaged in innovative activities aimed at discovering new perspectives of the village, challenging what makes a place special, and claiming their own sense of place within this vibrant community.
“We are incredibly proud of our young artists and their achievements during this course. They didn’t just create art; they forged connections with a space that is rich in history and beauty,” said Duncan May, a Director of the Moray Art Centre. “This project is a testament to the power of creativity and community engagement.”
The culmination of this course will be showcased in an exhibition opening on January 31 at 4pm. This event will feature the students’ artwork and provide a platform for them to share their experiences and insights gained during the course.
