This workshop introduces participants to mark making as a raw, expressive visual language. Instead of focusing on finished drawings, the session explores movement, rhythm, texture and spontaneous gestures as creative forces.
Participants will work intuitively, embracing accident and play to discover how marks can communicate energy, mood and personality.
The environment encourages curiosity and collective exploration. Alongside their individual discoveries, participants will also contribute to a shared piece, experiencing the dynamic of working creatively as a group.
The aim of the workshop is to help participants reconnect with instinctive creativity through the most fundamental artistic element: the mark.
The session supports individuals to:
• Experiment with a variety of tools and materials to produce diverse marks.
• Develop a personal vocabulary of textures, lines and rhythmic gestures.
• Work freely and without fear of mistakes.
• Understand how mark making underpins many contemporary practices.
• Engage in a collaborative artistic process that blends individual voices into a collective work.
Suitable for adults and young people (14+) at any level.
Ideal for those seeking to loosen up creatively, explore new approaches, or enjoy a playful and sensory art experience.
