For those new to oils, we will explore the versatility of oils as a medium as well as colour mixing, colour temperature, values and the varied techniques of application and finishing.

In creating the portrait we will consider the elements of composition, pose and countenance and search for the elusive essence and personality of the sitter

This enjoyable and challenging class will provide the opportunity to work through your interpretation and representation of the subject with the aim of providing an understanding of how to combine paint, surface and sitter into resolved works.
