The Moray Art Centre is excited to announce the opening of an innovative exhibition titled ‘The Odyssey: Journeys Home’, showcasing the imaginative work of students from Dyke Primary School. This exciting event will commence on February 21, inviting the public to explore the artistic interpretations of young learners as they embark on their own imaginary journeys, inspired by the legendary figure of Odysseus.
This unique exhibition features a diverse collection of artwork, including vases, prints, drawings, masks, performance pieces, and sculptures. Each piece captures the pupils’ imaginary journeys home filled with gods, monsters, and heroic challenges.
‘The Odyssey: Journeys Home’ is the culmination of an experimental learning course designed as part of the Creative Thinking Through Art programme, developed by the Moray Art Centre and generously funded by the Newbold Legacy Trust. The course aimed to enhance the children’s meta skills, empowering them to navigate an ever-changing world with confidence and creativity. Through engaging with various materials and concepts, students tapped into their imagination and developed problem-solving abilities.
The public is warmly invited to join us for the exhibition’s opening event on February 21 at 2pm. Visitors can also enjoy the exhibition until March 8.
