We are inviting MAC members*, members of MAC Club and everyone who cares for MAC and the work we do to join us at MAC for a meeting on 18th April at 6.30pm.
(zoom link below for those who can not attend in person, but still want to offer their support.)
We, the trustees, want to share with you our current financial situation and to hear from you what you think should be done to improve it.
A registered charity (SC028270), MAC is still the only dedicated arts centre in Moray, designed to improve community wellbeing and resilience, by providing accessibility to tutor-led creative workshops and opportunities.
Our aim is to make the wellbeing benefits of a regular creative practice, **accessible to all people in Moray.
Throughout the year, MAC offers an inspiring programme of local and international exhibitions, as well as collaborative, locally hosted events with like-minded organisations.
At the end of lockdown MAC received grant funding which enabled it to establish a marketing team which, in the financial year just ended, enabled it nearly to double our revenue from workshops compared to the previous year. This funding is now finished, and the team has moved on.
Like most comparable organisations we are finding grant funding harder to obtain as provision from public funders is reduced thus putting more demand on the remaining private funding sources. We continue to apply for funding regularly but realise that success is becoming much more difficult.
Therefore, we are asking you, our Friends, let’s not be coy about it, to help support us financially at this difficult time. We would also want those who can to donate some time to MAC whether as a trustee or a volunteer in whatever capacity. Finally, we want your ideas. Let’s work together to make this worthy organisation flourish!
